Compacting Factor Apparatus

  • Used to determine the compacting factor of concrete of low, medium, and high workability.
  • The apparatus consists of two conical hoppers attached above a cylinder, that are aligned on a robust steel frame.
  • Each hopper is equipped with a hinge for a Quick Release mechanism.
  • The compacting factor is the ratio between the weight of the concrete, which is partially compacted in the cone, to the weight of the fully compacted concrete in the cylinder.
  • Both the hoppers and cylinder are of rigid construction and made of metal not readily attacked by cement paste.
